With this invitation we warmly welcome you to the annual symposium at the Institute for Molecules and Materials (IMM) on Monday 30 October 2017.
The IMM welcomes collaboration with business and industry. At this event we offer you the possibility to get to know our institute. It is a great opportunity to meet our researchers and to learn more about their latest research results. We will have lively presentations on our research themes, an interactive booth set-up, a poster session, a fireside chat and a sIMMposium dinner. Also, we offer you the opportunity to sign up for a Meet & Greet with your favorite researcher(s)!
Institute for Molecules and Materials
The Institute for Molecules and Materials is an interdisciplinary research institute in Chemistry and physics at Radboud University. Our mission is to perform fundamental research to understand, design and control the functioning of molecules and materials. Top scientists, with three Spinoza laureates, make use of unique research facilities.
Research at IMM is focused on three closely connected research themes:
Theme 1 Structure and Dynamics of Molecules
The SDM theme unravels the interaction between individual molecules such as those with biomolecules and those within chemical reactions.
Theme 2 Chemistry and Spectroscopy of
Complex Molecular Systems In this research theme chemical reactions are designed and synthesised including those in the living cell.
Theme 3 Quantum Matter
The goal within this research theme is to understand, develop, and manipulate materials based on collective, or emergent quantum effects, envisioned toward new types of functionality.
The IMM exhibits a multitude of advanced spectroscopic tools that allow for a detailed characterisation of matter in the nano-domain. The most important research facilities include the High Field Magnet Laboratory (HFML), NMR Laboratory, FELIX Laboratory, SPiN labs, Life Science Trace Gas Facility, Laser Facilities and clean rooms.
